Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is a 2015 American dystopian science fiction film based on James Dashner's 2010 novel The Scorch Trials, the second novel in The Maze Runner book series. Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge of the saga yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as WCKD.

“Creating a classic-style character animation associated with a live action feature is a unique approach that stands out from the standard movie trailer. This video was inspired by vintage PSAs, and present day pharmaceutical commercials mixed with World War II era propaganda.”

Grasshorse produced the 2D animation promo clip, “Flare Virus Explained”, with subtle hints that WCKD isn’t to be trusted throughout the eerie fictional propaganda. “Every time we tweaked the script, Steve and I would look at each other and say, ‘Do you think we’ll get away with that?’” said Kathy Buxton, Producer.
